                                                                       Ron was a Boy Scout as a boy and was a member of Troop 176 in Simsbury, CT where he was                                                                          awarded Scouting's highest award of Eagle Scout. Ron is a Vigil member of the Order of the                                                                            Arrow Honor Camper Society and has served as a staff member of a Wood Badge Leadership                                                                          Skills Course.  He is a James E. West Fellow, Life Member of the National Eagle Scout                                                                                      Association and has received the 50 year veteran award.

                                                                       He served as the commissary director for a sub-camp at the Boy Scouts of America National                                                                          Jamboree; and has served as a camp director, waterfront director and first aider at both day                                                                          camps and resident camps.

Responsibility for raising over $880,000 for annual giving, special events, product sale, grants, etc.
• Developed, recruited and managed the Fund Development Board committee comprised of corporations as L-3 Communications,           Cooper Hospital, and Camden County College resulting in a coordinated fundraising campaign with corporate involvement.
• Recruited corporate community for a small business community annual giving campaign resulting in raising $7,500 where there was no revenue stream.
• Developed and wrote grant and foundation proposals resulting in NJ State funding for at-risk youth program for Camden city youth through NJ IBOAT program.
• Through a coordinated product sale raised $125,000.


Executive Director (Scout Executive) - Susquehanna Council, Boy Scouts of America, Williamsport, PA
2002-2004 

Leadership of a staff of nine with coordination of a $588,224 budget
• Led staff and volunteers, including board coordination. Increased contributions from $85K in 2002 to $140K in 2003. Raised $637K in deferred gifts yearly. 
• Created innovative fundraising campaign increasing funds 61%. Annual giving contributions were low. Conducted organizational analysis and outlined growth plan to raise funds. Created sports-themed fundraisers, including establishing teams, kickoff, competition between members and victory celebration. Increased giving from $85K to $140K first year.
• Revamped summer resident camp programs and marketing for BSA, increasing attendance 15% first year. Program attendance fell short of goals. Determined need to update activities and create awareness. Conducted surveys to determine current trends to improve attendance. Developed programs to appeal to boys of all ages. Created advertising brochure and DVD, mailing to group leaders and families. Steadily increased attendance. 
• Developed and wrote grant and foundation proposals resulting in a new swimming pool for camp and new funding through State of Pennsylvania elected officials for general operating budget.


Executive Director (Scout Executive) - Housatonic Council, Boy Scouts of America, Derby, Connecticut
1997-2002 

Leadership of a staff of six resulting in the coordination and managing of a $442,500 budget
• Expanded BSA chapter endowment fund, increasing funds $800K annually. Housatonic Council needed plan of action to increase planned giving. Recruited and trained volunteer committee, developed goals and marketing plan. Met regularly to keep committee motivated. Obtained thirty-four new gifts to endowment fund, averaging one gift monthly.
• Increased revenue streams through supervision of staff and volunteers resulting in a balanced budget for each of the five years.
• Coordinated strategic plan for organization resulting in a 61% increase in annual giving, increase in youth membership, corporate involvement on board and 10% increase in clients at outdoor education camp.
• Recruited corporations to participate in a marketing campaign resulting in three National President’s Marketing Awards for best marketing campaign, best website and best annual report.
• Chairman for a two year period of a seven community program called LEAD (Leadership & Education for Acceptance of Diversity) resulting in education of non-profit and corporate leadership
• Converted VCHHS community services study into action plan, improving quality of life. Recruited to Chair year-long study The Cradle to Grave. Program evaluated quality of community services for all ages. Organized team of community members, including hospital medical staff, not-for-profits, transportation and housing. Determined areas needing service improvement. Presented plan of action to local mayors and community. Implemented change, resulting in improved quality of services. 


Field Director -Boy Scouts of America, Essex Council, Newark & Verona New Jersey            1977-1997
• Through supervision of staff and development of a coordinated campaign increased clients served by 10% resulting in recognition in the national organization annual report.
• Through cultivation of a single  contributor it resulted in a bequest of $964,000 to endowment fund
